Happy Now?
« on: December 19, 2009, 06:19:00 AM »
Well it's here and I have a cold. Don't even feel like getting out of the chair.
Sure is purdy though. Should be out calling in a yote.
Who's comming up here and start my warm weather tractor and plowing my driveways? ??? Yea Right ::)
See my Beagle in the weeds in the left side of pic? She's loving it. ;D

Guess I'll send this to my son at Wikiki Beach in Hawaii, he called me last week and is taking up surfing 8)

Glad you got some snow. we are a little to far south, got only rain so far :(

I take a tablespoon a morning of Apple cider vinegar for the sinus headcold problems. And a little Brandy for relief during the day :D

Good luck with that cold.  I got it from my daughter over Thanksgiving and just now am getting over it. :P

I'm just a bit south of Lonny so nothing but rain here either, but the %&*# coyotes are still here.  Night before last at 1:15A.M. a herd of them surrounded my dog kennel raisin a ruckus.  Grabbed some pants, a light, and a weapon and charged off into the night.  Just about the time I saw them, they saw me and took off.  Stupid light I happened to pick was about out of charge so I didn't even try to shoot.  About daybreak Tuesday morning I'll visit the spot where they hole up and educate a few, I hope.   ;)

Dump the tractor for cold weather use at least, and get a big 4wheeler with a blade.  Mine starts no matter what the weather.   One of the best investments I've made.

Next time sneak out there and figure out how to make things go your way. 12 guage with #4 buck. ;) With this nice snow we have I wouldn't need a light. I've been waiting on this for months >:(  I'd blame this cold on my wife but she just got back in town. :D

I bought a new four-wheeler a year ago. Almost got the blade but I have two long drives with two fair sized parking areas. I use a Case backhoe I swear was made for Texas. Hard to start ever since I got it. It will melt soon. ;)

Don't educate them Yotes, KILL THEM! ;D

Dark out didn't need them pants. ::)

That snow is pretty!  We got a dusting here in the St.Louis area last night. I'll be out in the morn chasing yotes too.

Good luck and goodnight! ;)

This was the perfect snow. Will be gone soon. :( I looked out last night when going to bed and could see as if it were daylight. 8) I spent a while scoping around with my 223 just to see how everything looked at different powers. No targets :( I shot the yote in the avatar last year with snowlight at 10:30 pm.
A while ago I saw a doe run through the woods. Then looked out a little later and she ran back the other way. :) They really stand out with this snow. Starting to feel a little better. Just in time for the melt  >:(
Will somebody shoot a yote or crow for me. Best medicine. ;D

I went out this morning. Took the muzzleloader for a walk to one of my ladder stands out back. 2 young deer walked to about 40 yards. Cross hairs on the chest and squeeeezed the trigger, pop :o. Deer was smiling, and moved for a better look. Slowly put another primer in. Squeezed again pop, CRAPPPP! I now just set and watch as the 2 cute tender deer trott away :'(

Then I just came home. >:(

I did like the way they stood out in the dusting we got. WHY DIDN'T WE GET IT A MONTH AGO? Oh yeah global warming.

Ya know that the primer isn't enough, there's gotta be powder in there too. ::) Don't worry, you're not the only one to ever do this. ;)  Once I forgot and had to fish out the bullet. My screw contraption pulled free from the rod and then I had to fish that out too. It took me a week of holding a flashlight in my mouth and using a wire to catch the screw and get it all pulled out.  I went with a inline ML after that.  The thought of having a removable breech plug lured me right in.  ;D

#4 would be streachin things a mite.  Minimum range is about 60 yds. and they streach it out real quick.  Black rifle is hard to beat.  ;)

5' Eagle blade on mine with the winch to do the liftin.  Does just fine.  The boy has a Case 580E and 2 580Ts.  The Ts start just fine.  The E has to be coaxed into it.  Figure the E is the female.  ::)

Thought that was educatin them, since the dead ones never come back but the bystanders always return to see what the noise was.

Daylite or dark, I don't care who's lookin.  I fear frostbite though.  ;D  Hate to see things turn black and fall off.  ;D

Syko, I got one of those frigid female back hos ;D It gets below 33 and she can be very disappointing. Hope to replace her in the Spring.
Sounds like you have some good bait in that Kennel. :D How many in that herd?
I'm gonna leave that discolored appendage picture alone ::)
Give them yotes a SURPRISE tonight :o

I'm 20 miles east of Evansville and we just got light dusting of the white stuff. Went out this morning looking for a nanny and didn't see anything but two grey squirrels. I'm kinda glad it's over. Now it's time to try out the Prey Master 4 and the CZ 204!!

Bigvarmint

Uhm I goofed in my earlyier post ::) It was suppose to read 40 yards not 4. If it was at 4 yards, I would have had a story about jumping out of the stand with my Bowie ;)

Oh yeah, now it is time to drag the X-bow out ;D

Thanks, Bigvarmnt, no, it's a cinnamon laminated stock. I haven't heard any for some time. We have been seeing a few while deer hunting, one on opening day was a beautiful blond color. I almost blasted him with my little H&R 45 carbine. The boys and I are gonna try 'em after Christmas.
