OK...I know we discussed it.....
« on: January 27, 2010, 01:52:07 PM »
...but I can't find it.  The thread on .375 HH based wildcats, i.e. IA, JRS or Wby...thinking of messing with my .375HH for no other reason than boredom and would like to rechamber to 375wby or I suppose, 375JRS.  Oh...and any suggestions on who can do the rechamber????

We have two GBO Sponsors I suspect would both be up to the task.

SSK Industries is one of our oldest sponsors and does a lot of such custom work. I know they can do this but do not know if they have the specific reamers you mention.

The other is a newer sponsor but they also do custom rifle work and that is Match Grade Machine.

There might be others but these are the two who I know do this type work.

Thanks GB...IF...I do the project..I'm torn between the WBY and the JRS.  I think the WBY has "panache".  BUT...the JRS is mearly a necked up 8mm mag which makes more sense to me.  Maybe I'll give SSK a buzz.

I love the looks of the double radius Weatherby mag rounds but feel that my shoulder needs no more than my current .257 WM. It is quite mild on the shoulder with the thick soft pad Remington puts on their guns these days. I just need to find time to get out and use it more.

I bought a .300 Weatherby while I was in the army. The first shot was off an army bench rest that was made of rough sawed wood. It pushed me off of it and I was bloody from my wrist to my elbo. I never did that again. I would question if it is worth the money for and extra 100 fps.  ::) But then I am not the guy to ask because I have spent alot of money on guns that afterwards I wandered WHY?  ;)
