Bill Wilson, Wilson Combat on the 6.8
« on: November 25, 2009, 12:49:03 PM »
stolen with permission from Texasboars
Having hunted with Bill, he's the real deal and a no BS guy....

Now that I've taken and been in on the kill of over 35 hogs (and over 20 deer) with the 6.8SPC I can report it is an AWESOME hog caliber!!!!! I've always been a BIG bullet guy, but this little cartridge doesn't know it's little.............it kills way out of proportion to it's size and paper ballistics.

Advantages:

VERY accurate
Low recoil
Easy to make follow-up shots due to semi-auto and low recoil
Easy to get on a second or third hog in a group
Great youth caliber
Relatively inexpensive to shoot, especially if you handload

Shoot Barnes TSX/TTSX or Nosler Accubonds and it's deadly on hogs!!!! Sierra Pro Hunters are more than adequate for deer.
