That wont work with beets, their a compound seed, quite a few seeds in the cluster that looks like one seed, when they sprout all the roots are tangled together, and they don't like to be disturbed, in fact when you thin the seedlings do it with a pair of sissors and snip off the ones you dont want, dont thin by hand......steg
