Black bears creeping back into Texas
« on: November 29, 2009, 04:21:26 AM »
The article in the actual paper has more info than the online article does.
Sunday, 29 Nov 2009 San Antonio Express-News.
Example: July 13th of this year, a bear was caught on a trail camera in Kerr county.

I just hope the Texas law stays in affect protecting them long enough to get their population back up. They tried a re-stocking effort decades ago in east Texas but they were quickly poached away.

Too bad the guy shot the bear as soon as he saw it. But it was charging him right? :-\

It was about two years ago. My brother saw something slipping through the trees one afternoon and initially thought it was a hog. He said it was black but did not walk like a hog. The next afternoon my cousin hunted that stand and had a good view of it and told us it was a bear. We told him he was full of crap. The next day my other cousin saw it in a tree. You never know what you will see in that area.
