Venison in the Freezer
« on: November 21, 2010, 02:59:12 PM »
Yesterday was opening day of regular season here in western NY. I bagged a couple of does at over 100 yards with my Encore pistol in 308 Winchester. I used a 168 grain Barnes TTSX and both deer crumpled to the ground instantly.

I had previously used 45 Hornady 300 grain XTPs in 45 Colt out of my Ruger Super Redhawk and my Savage muzzleloader. But the deer couldn't tell the difference and dropped like a stone with the double lung shots.

Oh Yes...Venison in the freezer and it appears to be a lot from the size of the doe in the pic. Congratulations!
