Just bought me a 500 Handi and really like it.  But there is something about the prospect of a 460 Handi really has me interested.  I might have to try that someday soon.  So you started with a 45LC Handi right?  Where did you get the reamer?

Nice, Nice Gun.  Really Great!

nice job.  I guess you decided to go 460 instead of the 454 casull.  What changed your mind?

krod47nw:  Can't answer for gendoc, but I for one would choose the .460 over the .454.  It's comparable to choosing a .22LR over a .22Long.  You can only shoot .454 and .45LC out of a .454 chamber, but you can shoot all three out of a .460.  That .460 is one potent cartridge.

Sourdough,
Yes, Very true.  The thing that concerns me is the fact that the 460 is much longer than the 45 LC.  I wonder about 45 LC accuracy with the chamber that much longer?

Kevin

gendoc,
have you tried 45 LC ammo since reaming the chamber?  I would be very interested to know if the accuracy has changed much compared to before reaming.

kevin,
yes i have, the casull performs better than the colt because of velocity.
this barrel likes'um "on fire" ;D

the .460 is a touchy round. it likes 2.170 better than 2.200 with the correct distance
from lands. and .25gr of powder makes a heck-ofva difference in speed and poi.
 i'm staying below max pressures,around 2100-2200fps with a 250gr jhp.
fun gun!!! ;D

final test and zero...

38gr imr-4227  250gr nosler jhp  2.170 col  50yrds  2094fps

top hole is 2 shots  :o

experimented with several different charges of powder at .25gr intervals
same bullet from 2.170  to 2.200 col

the cool thang is, @100 yrds using the bottom of the prodiamond reticle
its has simular results. not as close but its DEAD HAWG !!!!! 8)

i'm done......

on to my next project !!!!! ;D
