I've got one I bought off the classifieds in a Trackerll slug barrel, and I installed the barrel on a frame of mine with a Boyd's thumbhole stock.
I drilled out the stock and placed several ounces of shot into the stock to make it a tad heavier and I can shoot 3" Remington Buckhammers and the gun feels like the recoil of my .357 maximum.
It's a pleasure to shoot, so just make sure you add some weight to the stock and shoot 2 3/4 slugs and he should be able to handle the recoil with no problem.
Oh yeah, I've taken two bucks with mine so far, one at 40 yards and the other at 65, and both never went more than 40 yards after a double lung shot.
