He said the guy committed murder at the age of 16 years it was recommended to him that he commute the  guys sentence from 116 years to 47 years. which he did and that made him eligible for parole. Keep in mind no other acts had been committed by the man at that time. The went up for parole and was granttd it. Not by Huck but by parole board. The man violated his parole while in Arkansas and the Prosecutors failed to file to paperwork to revoke his parole and send him to prison. Huck had nothing to do with that  and in fact did not even know about it. Then the guy goes to Washington State and gets into severl bad deals with the law they in effect dod nothing. They could have put him back in Arkansas prison but did not they let hin out on baond and then he raped the little girl.

So if i got it all i sure do not blame huck under the circumstances but Washington State has a lot to answer for. Get this Huck got on TV and took the hard questions and told what he did. Washington States people refused to come on TV and answer the questions. Huck at least showed he has courage and he is man enough to admit what he did and why. the others are cowards.

I do not hold anything against him if that is the truth..what about you?

Huckebee went pardon crazy:  He pardoned twice as many violent felons as the previous three AR governors combined.  Huckabee pardoned a felon on the average every four days of his administration.
Huckebee has a Willie Horton albatross around his lily livered neck and he will never see the inside of the white house:  This is a good thing.

Huckabee is a liar, a gutless wonder and a charlatan.  If this scumbag had been pardoned by Bill Klinton all of you Huckleberry apologists would be screaming to high heaven.

The "fair and unbiased" media goes back years to accuse a republican and ignor that washington is run by democrats and in fact had him in custody and let him go. Think this could be used in case he opposes obama??
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten

At least we can see where your views come from Alsagar.  That second sentence is a quote from Democratic Underground.com.  Problem is that Huckabee didn't pardon this guy.  He commuted his sentence and made him eligible for parole.  The parole board released him.  Hmmmmm.

"In the case of this particular individual..... they [parole board] recommend to me as governor for commutation that would give parole eligibility....In this case the judge was also recommending on a 5 to 0 vote [for commutation]. "

And....He is a lousy muscian ;D
He was also instrumental in releasing other dangerous criminals.
below is a news story from 2005

New sources, including an advisor to Gov. Mike Huckabee, have told the Arkansas Times that Huckabee and a senior member of his staff exerted behind-the-scenes influence to bring about the parole of rapist Wayne Dumond, who Missouri authorities say raped and killed a woman there shortly after his parole.

Huckabee has denied a role in Dumond’s release, which has become an issue in his race for re-election against Democrat Jimmie Lou Fisher. Fisher says Huckabee’s advocacy of Dumond’s freedom, plus other acts of executive clemency, exhibit poor judgment. In response, Huckabee has shifted responsibility for Dumond’s release to others, claiming former Gov. Jim Guy Tucker made Dumond eligible for parole and saying the Post Prison Transfer Board made the decision on its own to free Dumond.

But the Times’ new reporting shows the extent to which Huckabee and a key aide were involved in the process to win Dumond’s release. It was a process marked by deviation from accepted parole practice and direct personal lobbying by the governor, in an apparently illegal and unrecorded closed-door meeting with the parole board (the informal name by which the Post Prison Transfer Board is known).

Spin it barrister, spin it.

It's all spin as far as I'm concerned...I'm only interested in facts only...nothing else.  Even your point that he pardoned many felons means nothing to me without names, dates, documentation, ect....it's all spin in the interest of political parties, making things look a certain way.

I personally don't like any pardons or parole unless evidence comes up to show they have been innocent of all charges.  I have no idea why they let people go at all...but the case has been made...that's why WE are armed.

it's strange that when a murdering teen is supposedly rehabilitated that the option of crying for release might work, though if some stupid kid on a cell phone runs someone down the manslaughter charge can stick... maybe because the malice in the murderers heart is supposedly gone (it's not though), but the negligent person is still a bad driver???? makes sense right?  like taking guns from citizens but not from criminals, welfare for those not willing to work, shelters for people who don't want to work and can't get welfare... sympathy can accomplish most anything in contemporary america because the suckers just can't say no

believe that if you shot someone outside your home in self-defense you'd have to sweat it out though

Love him or hate him, Huckabee is now in a difficult situation that he will never hear the end of.  Difficult enough to significantly lower the odds of success at any election he runs in.  No amount of explaining on his part can change what happened, even if the blame can be spread around.

Sure Fox will help him out, he works for them, but this will haunt him for a long time, that's all I'm saying.

He said it would haunt him for a long time , not because of people talking about it but because he made a bad choice . He stood up and took credit for making a mistake . That is more than some do !

Huck did not free him just cut his sentence from 116 years to 47, he would
still be in prison if the parole board had not free him.
I know that makes no difference, just like the state of Wa. letting him go on bail, but we all know that makes no difference for sum reason Huckabee
should take all the blame.

There is plenty of blame to go around, but Huckabee is a national figure. Here is a man, that made a run for President, and came close to being the RNC choice. He is, or was being groomed for another run (most think).

Do some research on the commuted sentences and paroles during his stint as Ark. Gov." I did" and found some reasons to belive he used his power as Gov. to sway the decisions in some of the cases brought before the parole board.

As a reg Republican, and conservative, if I can't see fault with my own party leaders and tell it like it is, then I have NO business talking about the Democrats and their sorry Reps.
