30-30 did the job again.
« on: November 28, 2009, 11:38:37 AM »
I took my 30-30 handi out after work yesterday and shot a nice mule deer doe.
It was about 100 yrds up hill and into the rib cage out the liver, very effective. ;D
I tried to finish her with another shot but it wasn't needed.
I can't tell you how much I like this little rifle for hunting. ;D
I bought a CZ 527 in 7.62x39 and have a very nice buck ;Dmaster 3-9 and it stays in the safe. :-[
The 30-30 is my favorite for close to the road work.
I am forced to stay close to the road due to my physical limits. I would like very much to be able to get out and hike the hills again so thank god for hunting shows.lol

Nice job, I love hearing about kills with the good ol' 30-30.

I'm another one who will hike the hills for you ;)

A 30/30 won't kill a deer its too old it just won't work anymore!!!

congrats on your deer. keep huntin as long as possible once you quit you'll regret it, regardless of age, physical limitations, health, etc just don't think about what you can't do the same as before but what you can and do that you'll find just getting out will make you feel just as good as it did before.

Hunting is about more than killing!!

P.S. i also love the 30/30 its almost perfect for PA whitetail hunting
