Casull, everyone uses proganda and manipulation, EVERYONE so I did mean conservatives.  think of it like this; if said person or political party is putting out campaign literature and commercials- then said parties are engaged in propaganda.  propaganda is a means to manipulate- whether or not you agree with the manipulation should be your point of argument, not whether or not it's happening BECAUSE IT IS.

Squib, without trying to be a jerk, I have to ask, what the hell are you talking about?  I never said that the Republican party didn't use propoganda. We were not talking about Republicans, but rather CONSERVATIVES.  Some in the party are conservative, some are not.  The post I questioned was yours saying that conservatives

oh sure, there are tea parties and fiscal conservatives.  they're saving money by not pushing for road development, healthcare, even defense while this nation is chewing up soldiers and gear-- but they are putting more money than ever into propaganda and corporatism (bailout/buyout bs)
.  Now, without changing the subject again, are you really saying that conservatives are putting more money into bailouts and buyouts.  Because if you are, you are dead wrong.

I think it was suppossed to read that there are tea parties and fiscal conservatives... within the republican party... which DOES take down spending in lots of non-essential areas but also fails to stop the elephant from stomping around in the middle east and liberally wasting military assets.  as for the fiscal conservatives indeed putting money into the media, they have to

I wish you would have asked me earlier, I'd look like less of a jerk too!

conservation of funds with an aim to remain a sustainable government is great, but conservation of force in a political campaign is likely to mean a loss so I do believe that the anti-commies did in fact turn a blind eye to some bailouts during bush's tenure- to appease them and get them going, but it backfired when obama got in and the same companies came right back- so while I don't believe that bush wanted to get the feds involved in running businesses, I do believe that he opened the door to the corporatist opportunism that obama went wild with.... I think bush usually had his heart in the right place but he wasn't particularly gifted as a politician

it seems to me that they tried to fight fire with fire and lost (like firefighters using selective burning to stop a fire's advance) because when he "burnt" the greedy so to speak, he didn't do a very good job, and those greedy persons lit right back up
