First outing with 243 Ultra
« on: November 29, 2009, 04:41:05 PM »
as i pointed out in first post, traded for 2 handi's tuesday, camo lam NEF, cin lam Ultra bull H&R. NEF has tasco3x9x40, 8 shots w/ 100 gr win white box. 1 1/4" group, 100 yds. Ultra has FM 3x9x40, 11 shots, same ammo, same results. Great time had with these guns. I'm hooked for life. Now on lookout for 308 ultra or 45-70 BC  ;D

Sounds like you have a couple of keepers. :) I'm tired, but can't think what's a FM 3-9? Haven't seen 100 gr Win White box around here. I just shot my newly aquired 243 today first time. I'm looking for some lighter bullets. Sounds like you saved the last bullet Just In Case. How many rounds in those white boxes?
Good Shooting. Enjoy them!

You've got a couple shooters for sure!

Wondering the same about the Winchester "USA" white box ammo.   Didn't even know they made it in .243!
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

My apologies, silver box, powerpoints. The " FM " stands for Famous Maker brand, low buck starters that are not that bad. Sorry for the mistakes

You are way aheard of the curve on 243's. That is exceptional performance. Congrats.
