Is this an adjustment or designed to be tight? I got the sear adjustment and the over travel screws under control but the Guard stop screw was loose?

The big screw with a spring on it, that points towards the firing pin? Or the trigger overtravel setscrew?

The Schematic calls the part a "Guard Stop Screw." It is a larger screw with a spring. The grip has to be removed to see it. Holds the back of the trigger group up while the front is held in the frame by the pin.

I should have mentioned I am talking about a Easy open Contender.

Not the over travel or Sear engagement screws.

Badge54, I'm not sure what you mean by "loose". All my frames are "easy open" and when I put in the screw the spring is already under slight tension. I engage the screw by turning 3-4 threads. If you run it in very far the action won't function when you compress the trigger guard. I've never had one come loose. If you don't have slight tension on the spring something is wrong.

So it is an "adjustable" screw? I will go back to it and try the 3-4 turns in.
