« on: January 04, 2010, 01:22:22 PM »
A customized Pre-64 just followed me home from deer camp - Does anyone have a table to look up the date of manufacture from the SN?

SERIAL # 41753
MFG in 1941 as stated by Rangr44.

Starting # that year was 31676 and ended with 50753 with a total of 19077 made that year.

Very nice looking wood!
What caliber is it?
What barrel length?
What all has been customized?

I love my model 70s.
I have 23 in my collection.
Mostly XTR models with the black fore tip.

Does anyone know when Winchester stopped making the M70 with the stripper clip guide.  I have a 1946 made, or serial numbered M70 that started life as a target rifle (I believe) but it has a stripper clip guide and I don't know when Winchester stopped making that feature on its M70s.  Thanks for the help.  Mikey.
