That would be a NO-NO. If you need more than a .30-30 then get a .309 JDJ.

308 Marlin is on the same presure level as the 308 Win.  This presure level is to high for the Contender platform.

Purchased a G2 this spring and had MGM make a 30/40 Krag barrel. Only using factory ammo. Its' a great carry gun. Take the time to look at the Ballistics.

I had a 30-40 Krag barrel and sold it and now wish I had it back! Mine was accurate and hit very hard. I loaded 150 grain bullets in it and it was great. You are correct, it IS a great carry gun. I might need to get another 30-40 barrel......
