Is a Bisley capable of shooting the "hot" loads listed in the Hodgdon loadbook? My manual says specifically "not for Vaquero" but doesn't mention the Bisley. Thanks, Charlie
Not sure what your manual is. Making the assumption that you are talking about the 45Colt cartridge, my Speer #13 specifically states: "These loads are intended for use
only in Ruger Blackhawk and Vaqueros revolvers and the Thompson/Center Contenders. They are not to be used in any other make or model of firearm."
The Ruger Bisley is a Blackhawk first, a Bisley second.
My 45Colt Ruger Blackhawk Bisley loves the warmer loads, but I don't give it a steady diet of them. My wife likes the under 20,000 level of pressure where I like them closer to 24,000. I don't have a need to push it harder than that, though it is strong enough for more, as indicated in the manuals.
