I haven't heard of either one. But there are many good custom barrel makers out there that never really went big time.
I may have seen the rayl name a time or two
found elsewhere

I have a De Haas barrel on a custom built Hawken that was built by Dale Storey. Frank De Haas is well known for his books on single shot rifles and is a gunsmith of some repute. His son Mark still makes barrels---very expensive. My barrel is made to shoot conicals and does so so very well. It is finished like a miror inside. Ed Rayl is another barrel maker with a great reputation for quality barrels. I called him for help getting a ML to shoot conicals----he was very pleasnt and the advice he gave me has helped get a number of guns to shoot well. He would be at the top of my list for a good ML barrel.

Ed Rayl is one of the top barrel makers, his barrels are excellent.  Haven't used any of DeHaas
barrels but have heard good things about them.

I have 2 flintlocks with Ed's barrels on them, one is a .40 the other is a .54...They are both more accurate than you can hold them...
