NEW DAUGHTER---MAYBE
« on: December 15, 2009, 04:53:14 AM »
My daughter--as I have posted before--IS a iberal, a school counselor in a school set aside for gang members and individuals who just don't play well together. It is a school that has three officers posted at the school--all day, every day.
I have been talking to her about the need for protection. Though she seems to go back and forth between her liberal thoughts and mine, I have offered to take her shooting and she, at times, leans towards doing this.
I try and not push--she is as hard headed as I am--I try the leading approach.
We keep our grandaughter while she is at school--her husbvand is also liberal and a teacher---we love them both and they are good parents. I digress; This morning she came by to drop Julia off and she floored me when she showed me an add for the Judge. It was given to her by one of the policemen at school and she said that is what he got his wife.
Now I am not real excited about the judge--on several levels--but--She has been thinking and talking.
I think the next step is to offer to pay her fees for a womens only saftey and shooting course at the range I belong too.
What do you boys and gals think?
Blessings

A class would be good for both her and her husban . If it also involves some law and pratical experinces the better . You can't push kids but you can help them when they seek it . I would offer that having a gun only allowes her the option to make a choice if the need ever comes . Not having one only seals her fate .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I have had people come to were I used to work and want to buy a gun.  Since that was a gun shop you would think I would jump at a sale?  Well I would unless they commented that they would never shoot someone.  Then I would tell them go buy a big dog or two and don't have a gun the criminal would just take away and use on you.  Without the commitment to use it, a firearm is an accident waiting to happen.  Don't forget, especially with kids in the house, a handgun safe will be needed. 8)

Sounds like a gun safety class would make a great Christmas present - and make it a family affair!

(Don't ya love it when the kids sound a bit like the parents!)

Well this child is 35---but still my baby.
I am going to move this up to general handgun as she is getting some good advice from a friend---but I will end up paying for it.
I don't mind.
Blessings

buy here one and wrap it up for christmas. that way it will have a little sentimental value because here dad who obviously cares about here welfare gave it to her. Tell her she doesnt have to carry it but you feel better knowing she has the option. If she is leary about have it around the house buy one of those litte safes and put the gun in it and wrap it like that

williamlayton, in my experiences with schools, they exert a great deal of influence on their employee and students(if you want to work there?). Given time, most break away from this cult like dogma? Good luck.
