Does Freedom Arms still market and sell the Doctor base for the Model 83? I could't find it in their catalog? Rod in Pa

Go the their website http://freedomarms.com/ -- you should be in the "About Us" tab (if not click on it).  Scroll down a little past halfway and you will find:

Reddot Sight Mount

Freedom Arms is now producing a Reddot Sight mount for Trijicon & J.P. Enterprises Reddot Sights!  They are available for the Model 83 & the Model 97 revolvers along with holsters that fit the sight mounted revolvers.
The mounts are available through your dealer or direct from Freedom Arms for $48.00. Dot Sight is not included.  Call for details 307-883-2468.

I don't think they ever offered bases for the Doctor red dot.

I also initially made the mistake of thinking (assuming?) that the JP and Docter would work on the same base. They don't. The FA mount is for the JP or Trijicon as Paul said.

FWIW, JP makes an adapter to allow use of Docter on any JP mount. Costs $6.99. In telling me this, the JP tech included Burris Fast Fire w/the Docter. I have the Fast Fire, the JPoint but not the Docter so I won't be able to validate the techs statement ~

Not to highjack this, but thanks for that heads up Odoh. I'll check it out, but wouldn't want to make the base too high.

I will arrive J`burg the 6th April 09:45, and will have some time (better time  ;) the 18 th at 15:05.)

Yes, but reasoned for $7 + ship could ans a lot of my questions as there's no image on their website. May have one in hand next week ~ presently w/UPS on WX delay/exception somewhere in Minn. (then my wife wonders about those 5gal bucket of misc parts stored in the shed)
