I think this paperweight needs a "old ironsides" cannon carrige, don't look like a filed piece type of cannon. i made a quick-ee field type just to kinda see~
nope.gonna build a ship type of carriage.....

I agree Naval .
eta a grasshopper type Rev.war carriage would also look nice . A 3lber or 4 maybe ?

here you got the original museum drawings used to build the reconstruction carriages to the vasa ship
maybe you can borrow some design ideas from them
