H414 and .243
« on: December 13, 2009, 02:50:59 AM »
I found a stash of H414. Does anybody have experience with this powder and .243? They also have plenty of magnum primers and I noticed in my speer book they used magnum primers on there .243 loads.

I have plenyt of 85 grain and some 90 grain CT that need loading.

Thanks, TVC15

Hey T,

I do.  I load 43.5gr H414 under a 95gr BT or CT and CCILR primers.  They shoot well.  Shot quite a few deer and exptic sheep with it.

My 243 Handi rifle loves H414 and the lighter bullets. I'd give it a try on the 85's and 90's.

My .243 is outstanding with H414 and 55gr NBT's.  I never really got it too shoot all that great with heavier 85gr loads.  A Nosler book max was awesome with the 55's though.

I have used H414 for years with 80-grain WW or 80-grain Speer Hot-Cor.

I've used H414 for a bunch of my 243 loads. Near max load behind a 100 gr bullet has knocked down a bunch of deer for me. I used the heck out it until I "discovered" H4831.
