Interesting, now if you could tell us more...what kind of gun, or do you have photos?  I'd be quite interested if that sight was something original on an orignial CW gun.  If it is some modern shooter's creation, I'm not so interested.  The sight looks like a neat idea but in practice it would suffer in loss of accuracy unless the wheels were perfectly level.

The cannon is of Southern manufacture, but even with these other pics, I still can't make out what it is. I would think that even the most hard pressed Confederate manufacturer would have managed to bore the peepholes in that rear sight in a straight vertical line.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

Judging from the breech shape, it is a model of 1841, though can't say what caliber since there is nothing there to scale from.
