Belly bands are a workable option for carry, and I have a couple. The best of that type IMO, are the ones that are worn around the chest, with a strap that goes over the shoulder on the gun side to help support the weight of the gun.  These carry the gun up high under the arm where it conceals much better than at the waist. You can replace a couple of buttons with snaps to speed up the draw a bit if you like. There are snaps available, along with a tool to install them for a few bucks. Or if you like, a "Napoleon" shirt that allows access to the gun through a hidden flap behind the shirt pocket.  This system if virtually undetectable, even to the trained eye when worn properly.

Belly band holsters, I HATE THEM.  They sweat you to death.  If you want to see how they feel just wrap some plastic wrap around your waste and wear it for a while. I could not wear one for 30 min without having my shirt and pants around my waist looking like I had been sprayed down with a water hose. A good inside the waist band with the shirt tuckable feature or just wearing a loose shirt untucked works best for me.

`Yep, it do get hot under that elastic band! When I use one, I wear the band over a "T" shirt and under my "Button Up" shirt. It's actually quite bearable.  It conceals better than a "Tuckable" holster with a tucked shirt and just as easy to draw when worn across the chest as I mentioned in my previous post.

The belly band holsters made by Bianchi etc are all second rate and do not provide a high level of concealability.  The best holster of this type that is extremely comfortable and totally concealable is called "Thunderwear".  The company is in New York state and makes a quality product.  They work great with Glocks...the trick is to position the holster/gun so that your belt will come accross the grip area of the gun to break up the outline of the pistol, yet allow for the wearer to bend over freely and draw quickly.  I works amazingly well...the holster has three pockets which can be used for extra ammo or even a second back up pistol.

I Carry a belly gun in 357 mag, but after about 48 years of carrying both on and off duty I have opted for a very thin suede leather inside the waist band holster worn in front between my belt buckle and right hip. Fast, comfortable, and concealed.

Here ya go Lonewolf5348:

Nothing fancy, but it works for times when I want to carry a larger gun. Most of the time I carry my P3AT or PF9 in front between my belt buckle and left hip. I'm right handed but got so used to carrying my BUG on my left side I can't seem to break the habit. Practiced a lot shooting with my left hand. Actually got to where I can shoot fairly well with it. No problems qualifying the BUG with the port side appendage.

I carried my Glock 21 for years in a 6'' wide belly band.  I finally wore it out and a buddy gave me his left handed model and I turned it upside down and resewed the holster to work right handed.  I carry strong side.

I have however gined so much weight that I cannot conceal the big Glock 21 any longer and have switched to an old Marlin revolver in 38 S&W.

I know guys who hate belly bands, but I love mine, hot or cold.  I don't wear belts just sweat clothes, or shorts and loose fiting light weight shirts.  I carry a SAF-T-BLOK in the trigger guard when carrying the Glock........Mike

+10 for Dee!  As a 43 yr LEO in mulptiple arenas, I have carried a lot  of ways.  While in SEA as an AF MP on Town/Bar Patrol duties for 4 yrs, I carried a M36 S&W and 191145(+various long guns I still love my Thai Cops friends for-FN/FAL/M2 CArbine/HK93/M3 Grease Gun/M16+variants). My 1st priority in country-get a gun+M36S&W. Bianci Upside-down Shoulder holster-No Good-too many bar girls hugging me. Went to belly band. fair but still they got too close on duty.  After first armed robbery arrest / Thai Cops M36 stayed home, got a GI 1911 from local blackmarket. (It got rebiult to 110% by US MP Armorer gunguy @ adjacent Army base) From then on carried it under my belt buckle snugged tight under a USAF Issue Cammo Fatigue  uniform w/a duty belt over it w/ cuffs/radio/club ect over it.
One evening on the way to meet my Thai Cops @ BanChang, Rayong Province, the Baht Bus Driver detoured into a Tapioca field and his teenage passenger jumped into the truck bed seats with a knife and demanded my watch and wallet!  I had a brief case on my lap covering my waist (Note I an a LEO  in a Combat Zone in uniform when this dumbass does this!) I pulled my 1911 from behind my belt buckle and the party was over!  I made drive to the Thai Police station where all my friends were and -No futher info is available!
