I've been looking back & I have a few (Alarming?) thoughts of current events.
1. Starting at the close of WWII when Eisenhower was president & I was just a kid, he said
" Beware of the Military Complex ". He was a Republican.
2. Since that time every Pres. who left office with a balanced budget was a Democrat, if it really makes any difference.
3. We are currently in 2 WARS and over the years have fought in Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf and a few other "minor" conflicts, also including the "Cold War".
4. All of these have cost the lives of thousands of AMERICANS, mostly from the Middle Class. Line from a 60's song: "I ain't no SENATORS SON"!
5. All of these have cost the Tax Payers (US!)Trillions of $$$$$.
6. In the past few years I have read that 1 in 10 Americans are currently taking some type of mind control drug prescribed by their Doctor. One result is that voters are less informed and care less.
7. We as a nation are currently working harder, longer, for less and have fewer benefits than people working in the 50's.
8. Unemployment is currently at all time highs, while many jobs have been sent overseas.
9. Young people who can go to College in an effort to better their life leave with a degree AND thousands of $$$$ of debt to pay for it. As an alternate path to a college degree, any young person who qualifys, can join the Service and hope to recieve benifits for college after serving for 4 years.
10. FASCISM, a defination: A system of goverment that exercises a dictorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together a beligerent nationalism.
Fascism, who benefits? Only the Very Wealthy, Bankers and Big Business. One example of this is going on now. Health Care! Why is it that People who serve in Congress for a period of a few years are so well taken care of ? It would be nice to have the same or at least something close after reaching the age of 65+ and working all of your life.
I am sorry to say that I feel that this country is in this condition now. I believe that it has already happened and that no political party will make any change or difference in the way things are currently going. I truly believe that to change this direction it will take many people going to the streets in the form of a revolution.
