Warranties on the new bolt action rifles?
« on: November 10, 2010, 02:01:25 PM »
I have been researching a possible new bolt action center fire rifle, will have to hold each type to see how it feels when the time comes.  Some brands are out, and some are high on the list, a company that is customer friendly when they have a defective gun is important to me, like Ruger and Smith and Wesson for example.  Was looking at the Weatherby website on their Vangard rifle, and they worded their warranty like Ruger does.

With the cost of UPS shipping a rifle to a maker's factory I was hoping they would issue a call tag pickup if it comes to that.  Years ago I had a jamming Marlin Model 60 .22 cal., and there was a warranty station (authorized repair gun shop) in town that I dropped my gun off at. :)

Anybody that is to be avoided, like Taurus, and what has been your positive experience with certain makers?

Thanks.
