The grip isn't worth the time & materials I have in it.
I bought some figured walnut off ebay.
This grip is made from 4 pieces of walnut glued together with Brownells bedding gel: two larger pieces for the sides and a filler for behind the trigger guard and another piece on the top of the back strap.
I cut the tang groove on a small milling machine; half-depth (plus about .005") in each side piece. I used a metal key the size of the square tang to locate the grip side pieces while the glue was setting. Cover the key with some kind of release agent so you can remove it after the glue sets.
The general shape was copied from a reworked grip that came on my 1990s model 29 Classic. That grip wound up on my Mountain Gun.
