Prostate cancer
« on: December 05, 2012, 08:59:14 AM »
I have that.  Just recently diagnosed.  I'd appreciate those who know God to offer up a prayer on my behalf.  I've heard it said that every man will develop the disease if he lives long enough.  I don't feel like I've lived long enough.  I'd like to be free of the problem and spend some more years under the sun.
I'm headed for 44 days of radiation instead of surgery, because the disease has spread a little beyond the prostate.  I ask for prayers, even from those who I have offended.  Thanks.

Prayers you have.   One thing that might help is a local support group.  Nothing like talking to guys who have experienced it.

I chose surgery.   5 years ago.    Good luck .

FWIW- I had the surgury at age 50. That was 11 years ago. My younger brother did as well. Both of us remain cancer free. Keep the faith.

Thanks guys.  Really.  Your prayers have already been answered.  I was told by my doctor that the radiation will definitely kill the cancer and that it will not re-occurr.  I'm so relieved that I can have some more days in the sun.  I'm not worried about it at all now.  I have friends here, and I have hope in Christ, and I know it's not my time just yet.  Again, thanks, and any of you at any time ask whatever you will of me and I will do what I can.
The Internet is a bad and ugly place, but it's also a gateway to some really good people.  I get fired up sometimes over particular non-important issues, and I say things I ought not.  It's good to know there are some who don't judge me for my defects and care about me as a fellow Christian and human.  I thank you sincerely.
