RG;
Thanks, that engenders in myself a bit more confidence in where you're coming from.
..Not of course that you have to prove a thing to me..
Palin alone is not the answer, but rather what she obviously stands for. I believe that is why the TEA party is leading both the Democrats and Republicans in people's estimation.
Yes, I appreciate what Ron Paul stands for, particularly on the domestic issues, where he was closer to the ideal than anyone running in the last election. When I said at that time that he likely could not win and that in the US at this time a candidate needs just a bit more "pizzazz" to be successful...some took that as a personal rejection of Ron Paul. On the contrary, it was a realistic estimate of the electorate.
Most adults are qualified to vote, even though many are not qualified to walk and chew gum at the same time ! I looked at it this way; federal elections are usually won or lost by a 1-4% margin. How many "voters" out there are glued to the TV, watching "American Idol", "So You Want to Dance", "Jackass" or some kind of Hip Hop, instead of exercizing their gray matter, analyzing the candidates and issues ?
The fact that such an imposter as BHO can be elected by an even larger margin, only adds credence my point. If there ever were an opportunity for a third party, it is now. However, if the third party doesn't make a solid hit in 2010, their chances will be greatly diminished.
Come this election season, I expect the best chance will be an amalgamation of the TEA party and conservative elements of the Republicans. Either one alone, cannot have a hugely decisive win...and that is what is needed.
I think that is what we should look toward, and I don't care what they call it; TEA party, Republican party or Freedom party . The important part is the basic aim of the members. Name of the new party ?..."a rose by any other name...".
Could be a place for RP, but realistically, he would need a running mate with some of the old Pizazz..remember, elections are usually won by a narrow margin. True, the "hip & flashy" has worn thin since the empty suits in the White House have shown their lack of experience and world politics acumen, but still there is the margin of ignorance to deal with.
