TFA Model B21 side lever
« on: November 26, 2010, 12:10:25 AM »
Anyone know anything about a TFA Model B21? One on Gunbroker for $85.00 minumn. I can get a new rifle for less if I get a barrel break from Dunhams or Gander Mountain.

Is it the same as the XS B21?  http://bestairgun.stores.yahoo.net/xsb21.html

After you and I talked a bit in the Crosman thread, I decided to order one of these.  I should have it next week.  If you are still considering adding a side lever gun to your air-senal, I'll know more about these soon ;)

These review well by people who have them.  They are a knock off of the RWS48, even having some interchangeable parts.  They are said to be less refined than the RWS, but for less than half the price I have to give it a shot.  I plan on using it and maybe moddifying it in ways I'm just not goin to do with a $400 purchase.

let me know how it works out. The side lever is probably more practical than the vintage crosman

Got my B21.  Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but my initial impression is excellent.  This is nothing like the crude Chinese airgund of a decade ago.  It came out of the box looking like a mew Crosman or Ruger, both of which are being made in the BAM factory in China now.  Stoeger and a bunch of others are too.  The Chinese air rifles have come a long way from the drippy looking yellow wood and badly machined clunkers they used to be.  Considering so many of the 'name brands' are subbing out their work to the same factory, there isn't much point in paying more unless you are willing to pay a lot more and get a real European or American made gun.

I'll probably start a thread once I've shot it.  For now, I'll just leave it at a good first impression.
