I'm amazed at how well the shipping for Christmas presents works these days. Mrs. Questor is notoriously slow about getting me a Christmas list of things she wants, so I'm always without information until about five or six days before the holiday.
I prefer to buy locally, but I also have a "three stops" rule. If I can't find the item after checking three likely stores, I give up and buy it via the web.
I ordered one item yesterday afternoon after I couldn't find it. This morning at about 4:30 I got an e-mail saying the item has shipped and should be at my house on the 23rd. This was just using their standard shipping option, not any kind of expedited shipping.
That's amazing. The people working for the holiday shipping season must be working triple overtime to get all this done.
