What would you do? Winchester Mod. 70
« on: March 31, 2010, 03:07:52 PM »
I have a deluxe M70 stock cut for "long action" 30-06, that's been sittin around. I originally got it to put on a XTR Sporter 30-06 I have, but decided I like it as it is. So I'm tryin to figure out what other cal. I should go with.

I'd love to hear some opinions on the other "long action"  cals.

Is the barrel channel cut already?  If its cut for a standard barrel then the rifle will be heavier and a larger caliber might go......

Yes, the channel is cut, for 30-06, but I thought other cals would fit. It's a used stock not new.

What I meant to ask is the barrel channel cut for a Featherweight contour or a Standard barrel contour?
