Okay, so I was hunting for a nice fat feral hog, so I could smoke the hams for Christmas dinner. We have not been seeing deer or hogs or anything but squirrells on the local lease for a long time. I took a little folding chair and say back in the swamp across from a really muddy beaten down trail with nice hog tracks in it. About 45 minutes before dark coyotes began howling, and I mean really, really close by. A few minutes later, the bigger yote came down the hog trail. I guess he was also looking for some Christmas hams. I shot that one, and he dropped. I heard the other one running away, so I exited my little spot, and found him in the scope running away at about 60 yds, and getting farther all the time. I fired, he dropped. Now, the oddest thing is that when I dragged the first yote the 60 + yds to the second one, I found the bullet simply laying on the ground a foot from the coyote. Wierd as can be....It was the Hornady leverrevolution 220 gr in 35 Remington out of the 336 CS.
I've recovered bullets before, but they are inside the critters, not laying on the ground beside them.
