Its being reported on all news outlets ... given there was no new gun legislation, and the DC judgment was in favor of personal ownership, no wonder they're scratching their heads. You mean there is no correlation between legal gun ownership and violence?  :o

Look at all the people that bought guns after Obama was elected.  An armed society is a polite society.  The higher the odds of a victim being armed, the less likely they are to become a victim.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Scumbag criminals can't find ammo at Walmart because some rednecks keep driving around at 0600 when the truck arrives to buy it all up....thus no ammo to thug in up in the inner cities and that equates to a lower murder rate.

Been that way for a solid year now.

No, no, you guys have it all wrong; it's because of the Messiah the Obamanation.  He has set a kinder gentler tone.  Just ask the folks at Fort Hood, or the police in Lakewood and Tacoma, Washington.  Peace is at hand.

I wondewr if the murder rate is down across the board or if it is just down in certain areas? Several years ago a Minnesota newspaper listed all the murders in Minneapolis for the previous year. for about 75% ofthem listed I thought they were a good thing. Gang related and drug dealer related murders were a good thing in my opinion. Basically took 2 scumbags off the street in one shot.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.

There is a correlation: More people with guns to defend themselves translates to less crime.

Less crime perhaps, but most murders are crimes of passion, and I believe the murderers were just less passionate during the first half of the year ::) Murders are going to fluctuate from time to time and year to year.  I don't think their study means squat!

Here's another correlation: When legal concealed carry goes up, violent crime goes down, but, property crime also goes up. Some researchers (Lott & Mustard, 1997) attribute the increase in property crimes to criminals in shall-issue counties substituting into crimes where covertness and stealth is usually a great concern, which lowers the probability of facing an armed citizen.
