Nice job.. A couple days before Christmas, my pal and I spent the morning hunting coyotes...this country is called to death.. In addition to the local callers they have at least two calling contests in the area in Nov. So they are pretty call shy for a time... Anyway just before the storm hit, we glass most of the country we could get to west of here. My pal got a couple shots, but no luck, they were pretty long...but we saw 16 coyotes that morning...the last two times I was out I only saw one....this am I went up the creek where I often hunt... spotted one about 350 yards watching some antelope, they were watching him also, that was the tipoff. Any way getting into position, he spotted me and began trotting off...My second shot took him in the neck for a good coyote...Later on the way home, I spotted one in a huge pasture...Years ago I shot one across that pasture with a .22-250. Later we lazered it at 638 yards... this fellow was beyond that sleeping in the sun...When I got into position, he got up and started trotting off, everytime he would stop, I would just get centered and he would walk again. Finally, I did get him to stop when he came to a bank he wanted to check the draw out...I put the 700 yard dot just on his back, and shot just over his back...His lucky day..til we meet again...
