Tamer stock ?

Thinking about putting a Tamer stock on my 20 ga. but I am a little concerned about the 12 1/2" LOP. How do those of you that have a Tamer like the stock?  JamesIII

I have the Tamer 20 and ordered a standard stock for it. The LOP on the issue stock is just too short for me.

Add a slip-on recoil pad and it should work fine.  ;)

Yeah, that would probably would work OK, Tim. I just didn't like the idea of a slip-on pad with the hollowed part of the stock leaving a gap. Cheaper route to go for sure, but it seemed like a sloppy set-up to me. I'm sure there's a workaround to that issue too, but I sure liked the look of a couple other Tamer 20s & standard stocks I saw here awhile back, and...guess I got hooked  :).

Buy a Survivor or Varmint butt. Both a bit longer. I tried and did not like the slip on Limbsaver. Due to the cavity and the curve of the butt, there is nothing to hold the pad on.

I thought about the Varmitt stock but it does not have enough drop to it. The stock I have now is a semi-monte carlo youth and it is difficult to get my head low enough to sight down the barrel properly.  I will have to investigate the survivor stock. Ya I know, just buy a straight stock and be done, but I have handled a Tamer and thought the stock made the gun VERY handi, just a little short. Thanks JamesIII

I would love to have a Topper Deluxe Classic, what a beautiful firearm, but a little out of my price range right now. I will just get a different stock set for the one I have for now. Thanks JamesIII

The TDC stock set costs about $100, it's available from H&R just as the other stocks are.  ;)
