Same to ya Bri!
I'm always around; but I like to check all the new posts on every forum here on GBO. I even posted on the "around the old pot bellied stove" forum! Anyway, by visiting all the forums, whatever my momentary interest is can be immediately satisfied or the fires of an interest I didn't even know I had or thought was long over be rekindled!
I tell ya, life sure was easier when all I did was drink beer and chase young wimmins!
I'm not kidding! I feel like Opus in
Doonsberry when it comes to my suseptability to the influence of discussions on this site!
For example, this post got me thinking of having my 45-120 BC's barrel cut to 28 inches to make it a little handier as a hunting rifle, but I don't want to loose the longer barrel advantage if I take up BP Cartridge rifle shooting, which made me think of getting another BC barrel and reaming it out so I can keep my original barrel as is, but if I did that, why would I ream it out to 45-120 since I have one and that case capacity isn't really necessary except for shock and awe, but I like the 45-100 but realistically the 45-90 would do whatever actual hunting chores were necessary with smokeless powder and the brass is cheaper, but there was this BP talk and using BP in my 45-120 got me considering using the Trail Boss formula Quick posted in another thread to work up a load for the 45-120 with some 500 gr. RNFPGC's I have, to use on a Black Bear hunt I want to take, next spring or fall I guess, I dunno I'm still checking out threads over on that forum, but anyway, that was the reason for thinking of the shorter barrel in the first place!
Oh, did I mention that with all this readin and dreamin I still haven't had the time to finish the fiting of the 45-120 barrel to it's new action?
But I'm all fired up over my BP cap and ball revolvers and I want to take another week off to deer hunt, which reminds me I have to find Kathie a little automatic for her to shoot - need to go to the Baretta forum - she gets nervous when I'm gone from home, but deer season closes January 15
th, and I got a new Rossi M-92 in 44 Mag that I really want to shoot, iron sights but people here have got me to believe my open sight days may not be over afterall, which is the reason I'm thinking of going with peep sights on my 45-70, 45-120 and 38-55, but first, first before the deer hunting that is, I need to load up a bunch of 44 Mag and 45 Colt rounds which is why I got the Trail Boss in the first place no, that's not true, it was reduced loads in my 44's and 45's for use in CAS which I'm getting interested in, did you know there are a good number of CAS folk here even though that forum isn't as active as it should be, which is not a supprise, heck even the hunting in Jawja forum is slow and I moderate that! and...
and... Trail Boss?
45-120
