I'm actually looking to buy a set right now as well for my new 7-08. I have the high Leupold Riflemans on my 223, but I was looking at the one pc. Talley's made just for a Handi and everything else. What's everyone else using???? Or used and didn't like???

What I have has worked fine so far...

want as low as possible.to just clear hammer extension. may have to use gift card on something else and get rings in person.

I recently mounted a 3x9 Prostaf on my 223 Handi and I used the High Weaver quadlok rings, the ones with 2 straps per ring and it works just right. The so called mediums were too low.

The high Leupold Rifleman mounts hold my 4x12x40 just barely above the hammer....

The weaver quad locks come in different tall heights.  I first went with the tall for use with 44mm objective and it was just to close to the hammer extension (the adjustable ring for the power magnification was right at the hammer extension) for my liking.  So I went the taller for 50mm objective lens and it worked perfect.   ;)

If this is important to you, you really owe it to yourself to get a handi friendly scope!! A couple that come to mind are Nikon's, Leupold rifleman, VXI, VXII in 1x4, 2x7, 4x sizes. I have also had good results with the fixed 4 & 6X Pentax scopes.

I have everything mounted in various LO-RINGS from Leupold PRW, Warne maxima and med rings from Weaver IE older 4x4. (No LO is available in this line.) with good clearance shoot ability.

Here is the PRW rings:

Here is a Burris 1x5X signature scope in LOW's:

Here is a Leupold 3X9X40 AO in Weaver 4X4 med rings:

Here is a Redfield 2 3/4 fixed in LO PRW rings:
