30 Min. come on its not that bad out. LOL I cronyed some 223 loads this morning, then went to try to call some coyotes but didnt see any. Then i was dumb enought to go sit in the woods by some standing corn waiting for some deer, they must have thought it was too cold too. its going to be this cold for a few more days.

What are you using for a load in your .223. I've been loading 55 grn ballistic tips from Hornady and Winchester in front of 23 grns of IMR 3031. This has been a good load for me out to 250 yds in my H&R Handyrifle. A lot of other guys in my area are using ARs and BTFMJs.

I'm in ne iowa hunt a little of everything. Have not tried yotes yet this year have been busy plowing snow and muzzleloading. Friend has missed two dogs and seen one other but no shot. Have you tried mouth calls or e-caller? 223 with 40 Gr Barnes VLC drops the dogs and you don't have to worry about them bouncing off frozen ground as much as a fmj. JMO

I shoot 60gr. hp and 60gr.vmax in my ar. It'll shoot 1/2" at 100yds. I've got some load development to do will my .223 encore barrel. I'm not happy with how it shoots yet. I need a warmer day without so much wind!!!!

I tried some 60gr V max with H 322 powder. started on the low end with the powder to be safe ( first time reloading ) only getting 2671 FPS on a ten shot average. Loaded five more with 1 grain more and got 2560 FPS average. ???

That sounds kinda funny!!! I've had great luck using blc-2 powder. But with this .223 encore barrel I have some playing to do. My .25-06 barrel shoots better at 200 yards than it does at 100!!!! My ar-15 has a 1-9" barrel and it shoots incredible using 60gr. bullets!!! Ya might try some blc-2. I've always had good luck with it!!! Good luck!!!
