First Antelope hunt with pics
« on: January 26, 2010, 10:40:47 AM »
Hi guys,

Here are a couple of pics of my first Antelope hunt.  I shot the buck with a 25-06 Encore at 225yds with 85gr NBT handloads and the doe with a 12" 6.8 Rem Special contender with 85gr. Barnes TSX bullets from Silver state ammo.  Both bullets did a great job.

One shot one kill.

Nice goats, taken with a handgun even more impressive! What state were you hunting in?

Yep! Reminds me of my first lope with a contender in 35 rem.   Took him at about 100 yds. with what seemed to be a 100mph wind, and only took  7  shots.  What was your handloads, as I now have a 25-06.      Tcman

Thanks guys.  I was hunting out in Montana. My friend lives out in Miles City.  I was using a 85gr NBT with a velocity of 3000fps out of the 15" barrel 25-06.
One shot one kill.
