Took My Daughter Out Shooting
« on: December 30, 2009, 03:55:04 PM »
My Daughter and I went over to Arizona to spend Christmas with my Parents. I brought along a
few rimfire rifles for her to try out. She liked my Marlin 982S 22 Mag the best. She was able to hit
plastic 12 oz water bottles out to around 100 yards with it on a fairly regular basis. She had a
blast! She also shot my Marlin 981T 22 LR, 17HMR Handi Rifle, 22 Browning pistol, and my 12ga
H&R single shot shotgun. We both can't wait to do it again!

Thats some big fun and a really good way of bonding with your kids. I taught both of my daughters to shoot when they were little. They still enjoy it today. My youngest (21) took one of my S&W pistols several years back and shoots it often. If I could afford it we would shoot every weekend.

Very nice Bob and CK!! It sure is fun taking the daughters out shooting. My 7-year-old is becoming an excellent shot with her CZ Scout off the bench and her Crickett rifle while shooting offhand. She especially likes shooting old fruit and vegetables to see them explode.

That's great to see, especially when 90% of the parents these days prefer to just shove them off to TV, Ipods, WII's, etc.
My daughter found a Marlin 795 under the tree this year and is pretty pumped up. Not excited about shooting in 10 degree weather with 2 feet of snow, but there will be a better time for it. She really likes my Browning Buckmark, but I want her to get a little more time in with a rifle.
