Quick, out of curiosity? Keeping up with posts.
« on: December 29, 2009, 07:59:57 AM »
Tim,
Does the site put all the new posts in an inbox where you can read them in order without having to swithch threads? Don't see how you would have time to hunt them all down and answer them all unless it is more convenient than the standard access. Add the research that you do and I woukd think it would take up so much time that is might get to be more work and time consumeing than fun.

Tim,Thank you for all your time, teaching, and entertainment.

Hahappy New Year to you and all of our members. eddiegjr

Tim does now what I did in the very early days of the internet. In those days tho finding stuff wasn't as easy as it is now. I visited the four to six forums of this type that I was able to locate on the internet and then bounced from one to the other trying to help answer folks' questions. Man that took a lot of time but I was recently retired and had nothing better to do. It's how my name became so well known on the internet in those days. I think it's why GBO took off as well as it did in the early days. We then picked up lots of members and lots of helpful members.

Without folks like Tim a site doesn't grow. Ya gotta have a couple things to keep a site moving forward. Ya gotta have folks who are quick to help when others ask questions and ya gotta have someone to start threads. You've also got to have a set of rules and a group of folks willing to help enforce those rules. Here at GBO we've been very fortunate to have folks like Tim and many others to are always willing to help to keep the site moving forward. I'm sure glad Tim took over the task of looking up answers for folks, I think I've gotten too danged old to keep up. Back then all the sites I was able to locate combined didn't have the traffic GBO does these days. My poor old brain can't keep it all sorted out anymore so the torch has been passed to you younger guys to keep helping. Putting in the hours Tim does daily sure makes a fellow old fast tho don't it Tim?  ;D

Yes sir, it sure does, but it's enjoyable too at the same time, being retired is the only way I could do it too.  ;) My biggest concern is getting caught up when I'm away from the PC for a day at a time shooting, hunting or fishing, man the posts really stack up fast!!  :o
