Thinking about ordering a CZ82 fron SOG
« on: August 07, 2009, 05:48:45 PM »
I have admired the cz 82 for a while and even the commercial ammo is cheaper than the domestic stuff.  I was just wondering what kind of shape I can expect with the hand pick option.  I'm looking for a small handgun to keep in the truck.  Thanks in advance!

the ones i have ordered were good , very accurate weapon with a great trigger. one was well worn on the finish but i duracoated it. all mechanically perfect.  watch carefully and order the ones with 2 mags. Wally world airsoft holster is perfect fit for 7 bucks. that's what lives in my truck door.

This is a very good gun, at any price.  Mine has lots of holster wear but shoots great.

If you don't get hand select expect a lot of missing finish.  As one said,  you can duracoat.  If you do the hand select, it'll be very nice, with possibly the only missing finish being where the serial number is stamped on the right hand side.  Also, if it comes with the police style holster, and you want a right hand holster, be sure to specify.  I've received as many left handed holsters as I have right.  But, the holsters are unused, at least mine have been for the most part.  Most are so stiff you can't even get the pistol in without cramming it in.  And these are genuine Cz holsters, marked on the back.

My SOG handpicked CZ52 was really nice. That metal almost looked unissued. Only the plastic grips looked nasty, and I found somebody that sold new molded grips for cheap and replaced them.

I got one back when they first came on the scene for $220 (shame as it's dropped a few more $$$ now :)), but I must say it's a nice little gun.  Mine was in virtually new condition - very light holster wear only.  It has functioned flawlessly so far.

My first one from Aim surplus was in very good condition ++($189) and it shoots awesome. Its my new carry gun.  My second one from Aim surplus is in excellent condition($199) and its a safe queen.  I'm also thinking of getting a third one too at $219.  These are a great buy.

These are painted so many of the guys are refinishing them too.  They just strip them and repaint them.  Brownells offers some awesome paint.  I've used there aluma hyde II in gray park to refinish the worn muzzle on my rifle and it matched perfectly you can't tell its been painted.

Indeed.  25% of the cost of the gun is a bit too high for me :).  Haven't checked for CZ-82 grips but a certain large auction site often has 1911 grips of all sorts for $10-15.  I've gotten several pair for sellers there.

Minor pet peeve with that linked website though: does anybody else find it annoying when the prices aren't listed with the items but rather on some separate "Price List" page elsewhere on the website?

Oh well. :D

I should of never opened this thread!!!!!!!!! Now I want one. :o I just spent an hour doing a search on them and they really sound like a great little gun about like a 380 in comparison. The ammo is cheap also. ;D Dale

nice grips but I don't think sending C.C. info to Budapest is the hot set up.

nice grips but I don't think sending C.C. info to Budapest is the hot set up.

Particularly since they don't give any SSL-encrypted method of sending the info :o.

I think in this one case it'd be worth making an exception and using Paypal.  At least there your transmission would stay encrypted and the seller wouldn't actually every see your CC details.

I went with Century International for mine.

My new baby....

All the goodies it came with...

My first order from Century International Arms. Looks good. I was expecting a little more beat up pistol since I ordered their cheapest one. But there is only a couple little wear marks on the slide.
