Saw a 99 in .250-3000
« on: December 20, 2009, 11:18:44 AM »
In a Milton, FL gun shop.  It was the nicest one I've ever seen.  The case colors, bluing, and wood were perfect.  It had a vintage scope on it.  They were asking $950.00.

The model 99s in 250-3000 are the rarest because fewer were made in that caliber. The vintage scope could be worth upwards of $150 depending on the scope make and vintage (e-bay).
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.

You're not giving enough information to determine the rifle's value.

What's the serial number?
How long is the barrel?
It the safety on the tang or lever?
What's the Lever Boss Code?
Does the forearm have a schnoble end or a squared off end?
Does it have a cartridge counter on the left side of the receiver?
Can you post a picture of it?

If it's been drilled and tapped for the scope mount that hurts collector value.  When did they start the factory mounting holes, 1955 or so?  I have an EG in 250-3000 that is maybe a 90%+ rifle, some minor wear and tear from hunting.  I picked(stole) it up this summer for $100.
