DNR Invites Public to Discuss Elk Issues Throughout the next year, the Department of Natural Resources will be working with stakeholder groups to receive input on elk management concerns and guidance on potential elk management strategies. The DNR plans to have an elk management plan in draft format by fall 2010.

As part of this effort, the DNR is inviting the public to participate in two public meetings.

Locations and dates are as follows:

Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010; Northland Sportsmen's Club, 1592 Old Alba Rd., Gaylord.

Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010; Atlanta VFW Post 9489, 11761 Pettenger Rd., Atlanta.

At each location, the meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

Individuals can also submit written comments via e-mail or U.S. mail. Send comments to: DNR Wildlife Division, 1732 W. M-32, Gaylord, Michigan 49735 or via e-mail at: dnr-wld-wild@michigan.gov.
