Reverse Wideview?
« on: December 30, 2009, 05:30:53 PM »
Have a 1" vintage scope mounted on a 70's lever action in a Weaver side mount. Probably mounted when purchased new. Field of view is oval with a vertical bias. The opposite of a wideview, narrowview. Appears to be mounted correctly. Don't want to unmount it. Any guesses as to what I have?

I'd say ya got a scope with the ocular lens housing turned 90 degrees from how it came from the factroy. Twist the rascal back as it should be.

I'll take a better look in the daytime. Maybe it was twisted to clear the side mount/top eject?
