Not sure what to call these, scones, I guess

Set oven to 375 to 400

2 cups      self rising flour
1/2 cup    sugar
1 tsp       baking powder
1 stick     butter (or about the same amount of shortening)

Cut that all together with a pastry cutter, two knives, your fingers, your favorite method.

Add a handful or two of dried berries, raisins, bits of dried fruit and mix them in.

Add 1 cup  yogurt (plain, vanilla, non-fat, low fat, full bore) and enough milk, usually about a half cup, to make a somewhat moist batter. I usually add a touch of vanilla and/or lemon extract too.

Drop by 1/3 cup or so (or 1/4 cup) onto greased cookie sheets.   Bake 15 to 20 minutes.

Sounds like a basic sweetbread. Sounds yummy! It would be a good quick " to take on the road to hunting breakfast." I wrote down your recipe, thanks!

Thanks, Bear.  If you wanted them a bit tangy, use sour cream instead of some or all of the yogurt.  Heck, thin it out some and you can pour it out and cook up as like griddle cakes.  I find that if I turn on the oven, just as the beeper goes off telling me that it is up to temp, I'm putting the last one on the baking sheet.  Then, I start the coffee.  By the time I get out of the shower and get dressed, breakfast is ready.

They are pretty good cold too.
