Small game and predetor hunting.

I am going to start trying to do a little coyote, bobcat, and small game hunting this coming weekend. My Dad and I are trying to get the Quail population restarted at the family farm. So as part of the plan I am going to have to try to thin the predetor population out. And to do that I am going to shoot some rabbits and squirrels to use as bait. We are going to try and call coyotes and bobcats in. I'm hoping that this will work. Do any of you guys do any serious predetor hunting?

Not real serious,but do enjoy it.Been out a few times right after deer season.Going to try and do some this weekend also.Doe season starts and they'll be a lot of guys out moving the varmints around.May fill my doe tag or not.Slow

my dad coyote hunts in Kansas quite often and he doesn't believe baiting is necessary. He put some turkey feathers on a stake and sticks it out there about 35-40 yards. When the wind blows (which we know it does all the time there) it catches their attention when you are calling them so they don't focus on you. They are more focused on the moving feathers until it is too late.
