Chrome Browser
« on: September 01, 2009, 05:02:03 AM »
I have been playing with the new Google browser, Chrome.  It is even faster than Opera, my current default browser.  Overall, it seems to work about the same way.  I have gotten a number of "page unavailable" messages, but they open on retrying.  It also got a bit weird on Heather's Nanny's site this morning, but not so that I could not look around the site.  Overall, I like it and am looking forward to the Linux version, which will be called Chromium.

Chromium is the testing version.  Linux has a beta version of regular Chrome too.  It's actually the fastest browser I've found on Linux.  Normally I like Firefox a lot but on Linux it's always been a bit slow (as far as the interface goes).

Google is developing a version of Linux completely focused on Chrome though called ChromeOS - it'll be pretty much an OS that just boots a browser and all the apps reside on Google servers.
