Taurus 991 .22mag 6.5"
« on: December 09, 2010, 11:15:34 AM »
I first bought the 4" model.  Tried lots of different ammo and bullet weights, but could not get it to shoot.  So I traded for a new 991 in 6.5" barrel.
Night and day difference.  This gun shoots great.  With a 4x scope shoots everything well.  All holes touching @ 25yd.

It was very dirty, so I cleaned and lapped barrel (learned that from GB guys when I could not get my NEF to shoot)
Single shot, trigger is OK, but double action it is terrible.  I hope that it wears in, but as long as it shoots this good I am happy.  I would recommend this gun.
Hope to ruin a coyotes day this year when he tries to jump my turkey decoys.

I use Remington 40 gr HP in my 48 Smith, they have given me the best terminal performance.
