G2 accuracy

I finally got my G2 35 Remington out again for the first time since I put a scope on it.  The wind was gusting to 30mph or more and I was just trying to get on paper at 100yds so I was shooting over the hood of my truck.  I had 15 rounds so I burned the first 5 at 25yds to get zeroed then I moved out to 100 and fired two 5 shot groups.  They both went into 2.5"!  I would guess that this gun might do better than an inch from bags on a bench on a calm day.  Are all Contenders this accurate?

From sandbags on a good bench, scoped, I've had 5 shot groups that I could cover with a quarter on a good day. This was with a 10" 7TCU. My 14" 7TCU will group about 1 1/2" with 5 shots. I don't believe in shooting less than 5 rounds to check on grouping.

It depends on the caliber, as well as other variables, but yes, they mostly are all that accurate!

357 Herrett, 100 yds, 5 shots into 1-1/4" with hunting loads. First pass with the 218 Bee is 1.4", I'm hoping to do better.

30-30 Super 14 - 3 shots that can be covered by a dime at 100 yards. 8"  270 REN barrel from Bullberry - 5 shots one hole at 30 yards!  Of course that's with a good sandbag.  I can usually shoot 2" groups with all my barrels even if I'm a little wobbly.  They are even better if you have a overtravel screw installed behind the trigger and do the "spring trick" to lighten the trigger pull.

This gun definitely does NOT need any trigger work.  Best trigger I have on any of my guns and I bought it this way.  Got it used so I'm not sure if it was worked on at all.  I can't wait to shoot it from a proper bench to see what it can really do.  Actually, I can't wait until bear season to see what it can really do.
